The shocking truth about people with different views

Shockingly, research indicates that it’s not just possible to express one’s views without being an asshole, it’s actually possible for people with different views to have an amiable relationship.

Sounds crazy, but it’s worth considering.

Be solution-oriented, not problem focused

If the world is getting you down, remind yourself to focus on what is within your power to control & be solution-oriented, not problem-focused (& if you can help others, do so).

Feeling overwhelmed is a sign that you’re focusing on things that are beyond your power to control.

Find what you love

If someone creates content — whether it’s music, videos, art, comics, or words — and you don’t like it, don’t understand it, or don’t find any value in it, maybe it wasn’t meant for you.

There are over 7.5 billion people on the planet — all with different preferences, opinions & levels of understanding — not everything anyone creates is intended for every single person on the planet.

It is perfectly possible to go in search of what you love in life without disparaging, mocking, or criticizing all the things you discover on your journey that you don’t.

Problem-finding as a sport

Some treat problem-finding like it’s a sport to win. But finding & highlighting problems is easy. Complaining is easy. Mocking & belittling people and/or their efforts is easy.

What isn’t as easy? Being solution-oriented instead of problem-focused & leading by example — & with love.

Seek to exchange value, not just take it

People have a nasty habit of greedily taking anything of value that they can get for free – even if it’s at the expense of the person or company giving it. And in return for the value they get, they often do nothing.

Don’t be one of them.

Exchange value, don’t just take.

Don’t let the value you get for free from someone or something stop with you.

Strive to keep value in motion by paying it forward and exchanging value wherever you can.
