Not everyone will understand your journey. That’s fine. It’s not their journey to make sense of. It’s yours.

Don’t let what you can’t do stand in the way of what you can do.

Always remember that you may not be able to do everything, but you can always do something.

Whenever you catch yourself focusing on a problem or obstacle (which is discouraging), remember to turn your attention to possible solutions (which is encouraging).

While immediate solutions may not come to mind, you can aid yourself in the process by using the awesome power of asking yourself good questions and letting your subconscious guide you.

Don’t let what you can’t do stand in the way of what you can do.

“I’m an exception”

People are so in the habit of seeing & dismissing warning labels — and making themselves an exception to potential consequences — that something can literally say

WARNING
IGNORING THIS WARNING WILL LEAD TO PAIN & SUFFERING

and people will still do it.

If you care about your health & the quality of your life, make sure that’s not you.

If you know you need to change your life for the better…

Unless you’ve specifically hired someone in your life to do it, it’s not someone else’s job to look out for you. It’s not someone else’s job to protect you from things that may do you harm. It’s not someone else’s job to keep you healthy. It’s not someone else’s job to make sure you do everything you want to do in life. These things are your responsibility.

If you’ve veered off course in life or you’re doing things you know are bad for you, it’s up to you to change that.

The only person stopping you from bettering yourself is you.

If you know you need to change your life for the better, focus on what you can do to change it and start today.

Get started. Keep going.

There’s nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about putting in the effort to get better at something. No one starts at the top – everyone has to make the climb to reach the heights they are capable of achieving.

Don’t let your fear of being bad at something stop you from making progress towards getting better at it. Putting in the effort to improve yourself is far more admirable than anyone who may criticize you for it.

Don’t let your fears keep you from making progress towards the things you want to do in life. If you want to see how high you can go, you have to start climbing.

Light your own fire

When one’s motivation is dependent on external sources, the moment those sources are absent is the moment one’s motivation begins to fade. This is because motivation is a state of mind.

And if a particular state of one’s mind is dependent on the availability of things it doesn’t always have control over, it can be difficult to attain the state of mind associated with those things when they’re unavailable.

This is why it’s important to learn how to develop the mental discipline necessary to be one’s own source of motivation. When one is able to motivate themselves, they light a kind of fire that can burn indefinitely.

The fire you light within yourself

Along the way to achieving whatever it is you desire, make sure your mindset is conducive to creating positive thought processes that reinforce your efforts.

Because until one changes the way they think, they will continue to follow familiar patterns in life. An example of this is when people start new endeavors with enthusiasm (or make New Year’s resolutions), but then fail to find the motivation necessary to follow through after obstacles arise.

The fire you light within yourself must not only burn hot enough to stay alight during turbulent times, it mustn’t be dependent on things you have no control over.
