Not everyone will understand your journey. That’s fine. It’s not their journey to make sense of. It’s yours.

How to slow down time

One of the reasons life appears to pass more quickly as we age is because we become engrained in comfort. A lack of novelty in one’s life leads to time passing with little worth remembering.

If you want to slow down the rate at which your life appears to be passing you by, embrace new experiences, set new goals, and challenge yourself.

Put power in good things, not bad

We often betray ourselves when we give more weight to criticism from people we neither know or respect than we give to practical advice & positive feedback from people we do.

What you choose to dwell on can have a dramatic impact on how you feel. So it makes sense to pay attention to what you pay attention to and give more power to the things that are good for you than you give to those that are not.

Building the world where your future self resides

Your current lifestyle, routines & habits are building the world where your future self resides.

By failing to be mindful of how your present-day actions affect the world that your future self has to live in, you’re far more likely to end up with a life that you neither wanted or planned for.

Mindfulness

Few people ever actively take the time to just stop. To listen. To feel. To breathe. To use the full extent of their senses. And be aware of and fully immersed in the experience of life.

Because it’s a beautiful thing. And powerful.

“Looking at beauty in the world is the first step of purifying the mind.” — Amit Ray

Just taking a moment to connect with the world around you in an intimate way is enough to help provide new insights, a new perspective, and to actively experience the interconnectedness of all things.

It’s enough to realize that we are all playing background characters in each other’s lives — and if we wish, we can not only choose to play a larger role in those lives, we can choose what kind of impact we have.

That we can have a positive impact on someone’s day. That we can make a difference.

That there’s more to life than what most choose to see.

Broken vs unsolved

When a person learns to recognize the difference between something that’s actually broken and something that is simply unassembled or unsolved, the manner and attitude with which they approach that thing can have a dramatic impact on its outcome.

If you’ve ever referred to yourself or someone else as broken, understand that the same concept applies.

Your true potential

Don’t be deceived by a world that often implies that you can only be or do one thing in life.

Your true potential in life may lie in your unique combination of interests that will lead to an uncommon set of skills & knowledge that could ultimately result in you to doing or offering something that the world has never seen before.
