About My Photography

“A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense, and is, thereby, a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety.” — Ansel Adams

So hey – yeah – I took all the photos you see on my site here. :-)

And here on Google+ and also here on Flickr, too.

You’re welcome to share my photos provided you do not do not remove the “(c) Zero Dean” or alter the photos in any way.

I’d appreciate it if you asked permission before including any of my photos on blogs or personal websites — not because I am going to say no, but because I like to know where my photos are being displayed. And if I know about your site, I may highlight it to my followers.

If you do include my photos on a website or blog, I ask for a photo credit with a visible link to ZeroDean.com near the photo.

Capturing moments & telling stories.

That’s what photography is about for me — whether it’s a single image or a whole series —  I love telling stories through imagery.

I’m a self-taught photographer. I’ve been working professionally in portrait photography since 2004 — mainly providing professional headshots for actors and helping models diversity their portfolios.

Since starting my most recent adventure (ZDXP) I decided to offer my photography services for free as I travel (schedule permitting) — doing it for the love of it — so my paid services are on hiatus for the time being.

As you might expect, most of my subject matter over the past year+ involved travel related photography (landscapes, landmarks, nature, and snapshots).

My specialty

While I enjoy studio work, I prefer the “organic” nature and challenge of shooting on location working in a variety of environments & conditions.

Some History

I had a studio in Baltimore, Maryland around 2004-2005 before I decided to move to Los Angeles and begin playing a supporting role in the entertainment industry 2006-2007 — and then I jumped back into computer graphics 2007-2009.

Mentoring

Besides shooting, I love to teach. I mentor aspiring photographers and models on how to improve their work on either side of the camera. I also teach Photoshop and digital processing.

My Photography Services Site: Zerotopia.com

It hasn’t been updated in quite some time — on account of my currently travels — but you can find out more about my “professional side” by visiting Zerotopia.com.
